Knight  Roles and duties of a Jedi Knight  Upon your graduation to Knighthood , you will be a full member of the order in the eyes of all . As a Jedi Knight you will travel the galaxy and aid all those you encounter. You are no longer bound to a master , and can thus choose your own approach to solving he dilemmas laid before you . Ofcourse , you will still be subject to the demands of the council, or one of the proxies in our satellite academies , will determine the missions you execute . As a Jedi Knight you are he arms and legs of the order, and the council requires you to stay fit and prepared for the moment when you will be asked to end threats to the citizens of the galaxy. There are more knights than any other rank of Jedi in the order, and there are many paths Jedi Knights may follow in their careers. Knights perform several functions within the order , including Peacekeeping, diplomacy, and investigation. Such talent specialization has given rise to three distinct branches of Knights and Masters : Jedi Guardians , Jedi Consulars and Jedi Shadows. Each group differs greatly in its approach to carrying out a mission , but all three philosophies are vital to the order . Allow the force to guide you into a role that will best utilise your innate abilities  Your service as a Jedi Knight can last decades , even centuries if you belong to a species blessed with longevity . Throughout these years you will Serve in the name of the republic and at the will of the force-an opportunity few being will ever know. Jedi Guardian If you prefer heroics to standing around , becoming a Jedi guardian may be the path for you . The Jedi Guardians are the republics first line of defence against the thousand enemies who seek to destroy it. Jedi Consular The path of the Jedi is one of Harmony , one that avoids violence and seek to unite the living beings through the peace of the force. Jedi Guardians are needed to prevent the spread of evil , but it is the Jedi consulars who up hold the central precepts of the code Jedi Shadows The elite Jedi Shadows are widely respected members of the Jedi . The role of the Shadows is to seek out and vanquish any traces of the dark side , requiring them to be both spies and saboteurs . Jedi Shadows prize the mission above all else , and often must make moral compromises they would be unpleasant for other members of the order. Alter Abilities As a youngling you learned control ; as a Padawan you studied sense and now as a knight your education in the force will continue in the discipline of alter. These abilities , which use the force to physically impact the surrounding environment , are the most difficult to master . But without alter, you are like a mud limpet-perceiving you world but incapable of touching it. With alter you will grow arms and legs . Learn these skills practise them daily, and you will deepen your aptitude for alter throughout your career. Telekinesis This is the most fundamental alter ability, forming the basis for familiar force push and force pull . Your training should focus on both precision and control but also great weights.  Affect mind   Affect mind commonly referred to as the Jedi mine trick can over-ride the impulses of an undisciplined brain. This ability should be a temporary means to accomplish a greater good . It should never be used for profit or gain. Advanced force techniques While some Jedi have demonstrated their mastery of the forces more challenging expressions , this does not obligate you to follow their lead . But if your talents lie in similar areas, you may wish to devote a year or two of your knighthood to becoming an expert in an advanced force technique . Battle meditation in study and practise, is actively encouraged by the council and is absolutely critical to wartime victories. Through battle meditation a Jedi touches the minds of every soldier in a combat zone, friend and foe alike . Allies gain a boost in morale and fighting efficiency, while enemies become seized by confusion and fear. Combustion, flamusfracta, is a severe culmination of the art of telekinesis by which a Jedi causes objects to explode . The intensity of the blast can injure an entire room of enemies particularly from he object is made from a flammable material. Forbidden force techniques In your heart, you know which abilities run counter to the Jedi code. Yet during the last war , the raw power wielded by the sith prompted some Jedi to match them in rage . Such miscalculations always end in tragedy . Forbidden force techniques are marked by loss of control. Using any of these techniques as a Jedi Knight is prohibited.  Force grip This refinement of telekinesis works as an invisible extension of the hand allowing force users to host enemies into the air or close off the air from their tracheas it is truly a brutal and cruel application of the force. Force Insanity This dark side perversion of affect mind invades a victims psyche with sinister energies to the point that he or she becomes paralysed by horror. The technique can push vulnerable intellects into permanent madness. Emerald lightning A technique in which and Jedi can spray electric bolts of variable intensity from the hands and fingers. This technique is closely related to the dark side power of force lightning , but it springs from a sense of determined justice and has been studied by some masters under controlled conditions . It's energies can also be contained in a ball of pure kinetic force known as a kinetite. Additional lightsaber techniques  As a knight you should never stop learning-lightsaber techniques at no  different. Every move you perf ft only opens pathways to new moves. Even we battlemasters are humbled by how little we truly understand. Here are a few of the more advanced moves you should study on your knighthood. Saber throw is a difficult discipline to perfect . Combining the physicality of lightsaber combat with the telekinesis of force alter , it allows you to hurl a lit saber at a target and call it back to your hand . A saber may be thrown in a pinwheeling motion , or in a straight line as a spear . Use the force to help guide the sabers  paths and extend its range beyond what your strength would normally permit . Sokan encourages a Jedi to use the surrounding terrain as a weapon, from seeking the high ground to cover behind obstacles. An enemy can be driven back into hazards such as active machinery or open pits .  In trakata, a Jedi can take advantage of one of the lightsaber unique abilities-the ability to be rapidly switched off and on. In passing the blade a Jedi shuts down the saber momentarily bypass an enemy block, then immediently reactivates it for killing strike. Taking on a Padawan learner Although it is not mandatory , at some point during your knighthood , you may feel the desire to pass on your knowledge to another, younger Jedi . As a Jedi Knight you are encouraged to heed the Forces call , particularly if you sense it is leading you towed mentorship. Aside from recruitment , this is the most important action you can take to assure the our order remains vibrant and strong . Taking a Padawan apprentice will complete the cycle that first brought you to knighthood , and if concluded successfully will elevate you to the rank of Jedi Master. Becoming a Jedi Master The rank of Jedi master is the highest formal recognition one can achieve in the jedi order. It is not a requirement , nor does it mark the end of your journey . Jedi who attained this rank are the fewest membership , and are outnumbered by even younglings .  As a Jedi master, your missions will not fundamentally change . You are still responsible for aiding the needy and extending the Order's reach throughout the republic. Yet because of your Jedi skills will have deepened since your first mission as a knight , you may also wish to consider a teaching role that suits your talents . The temple and our satellite academies have need of force philosophers , battlemasters , historians and scientists as well as the experts in the peculiar obsessions of the Jedi Guardians Transcending Death One day you will die, in battle or in your sleep , having loved the noble life of a Jedi. None can state with clarity what awaits after you become one with the force , but your journey into the netherworlds will be instantaneous .
